Education / Learning
As my grandfather once told me, "learning is not a destination but a journey."
Maker Depot is currently in the planning/vetting process of educational offerings that will be taught at our new, makerspace. There will be classes from the very basic to the advanced, covering all aspects of the maker experience. Programming, electronics, game design, wood working, beginning computing, 3D printing & fabrication and much much more.
For a current list of all our classes, please check the events page.
If you have interest in teaching, working, or volunteering with the Maker Depot, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
As is the case with most learning, having a knowledgeable instructor to lead-by-example is a great way to learn. We will have many courses that are taught by people that have a passion for the topic and the ability to convey that passion to others.

Don't be afraid that you won't understand the technology. We have beginner classes to help you ease into learning. With a hands-on approach to learning, you'll quickly get up to speed. There will also be many courses tailored for children from ages 8 and up.
Learning for work
Sometimes you need that little extra bit of knowledge so that you can show off at work. Whether it be Excel power tricks, SharePoint administration or even Linux ins and outs, we've got that covered.
You just learned something new and exciting, why don't you share it with others by holding a flash class. These sessions allow for quick discussion on topics and allow for others to learn and provide additional experiences and feedback.
Our growing library of books and periodicals are available to all members for on-site reading. While the internet allows for quick access to information, there are times when having a book in your hand just makes sense. If we don't have a book or periodical, just ask and we will research it.
During the year, we will hold many competition-based classes that allow the student to learn with a fun, competitive component. The VEX robotic design system, for example, provides us an opportunity to teach classes in robotics and to have the students learn by doing.
Who knew that camping could be so much fun? With Maker Depot education camps, we make that boring time off from school fun and enjoyable. First camp to open in Winter 2015.
