Advanced Robotics using Vex Cortex – Afternoon

Have you ever wanted to learn how robots are built? Then take what you have learned and invent new ways to teach the robot to do tasks that have never been done before. You will learn how to add motors and sensors to create your own unique creation to explore its world.

This is the fourth of four courses in the curriculum on Robotics. Each of the courses builds upon the other to allow for more sophisticated control of your robot.

VEX Robot

What you will learn in this course:

  • Learn how to program your robot
  • How are signals sent
  • How much will a motor lift
  • How do gear ration effect speed and torque
  • Add sensors
  • Assemble robot
  • Wiring
  • Advanced challenges
  • Mechanics

What will we do?

  • Enhance robots to complete special advanced tasks. Then, compete with each other while measuring speed, task completion and showmanship
  • Introduction to Arduino

Ages 12 and up.

Prerequisites

No prior electronics or soldering skills are required

Course fees

Includes all materials to practice soldering different types of components. A choice of a solderable kit is included in the price of this camp.
